A rig contractor wanted to improve and standardize potential dropped objects inspections on their 3 drilling rigs. We sent out 2 project engineers on their installations, they conducted a light survey and photographed the equipment with most potential for dropped objects. The derrick, all drilling and pipe handling equipment, pipe deck, moon pool and deck cranes became focus areas. Visualized inspection routines where produced for all risk equipment in each of these areas. The inspection routine was then implemented in their maintenance system.
